Coming Soon: Your New Employee Handbook

A new Employee Handbook will be coming your way soon, and it’s designed to make expectations clearer, more consistent, and easier to access for everyone across Service Metal.

Beginning May 1, the handbook will be available to all employees directly in Paylocity. This will become the single, reliable source for company policies moving forward, with an effective date of June 1.

That means what you see in Paylocity will always be the most current version. Printed copies or previously saved versions may become outdated, so employees should rely on the version available in Paylocity as the source of truth.

Over the course of May, we will be working closely with managers across the company to support a smooth rollout. This will give everyone time to read through the handbook, ask questions, and get a clear understanding of what’s expected in their role. Before the June 1 effective date, all employees will be asked to acknowledge the handbook in Paylocity.

This new handbook applies to everyone at Service Metal, across all roles and locations. It brings consistency to key areas that impact day-to-day work, including how time and pay are managed, what strong safety practices look like, and expectations around communication and professionalism. The goal is not just to outline policies, but to provide a clear and accessible guide that supports how we work together.

As part of this rollout, employees will receive a task in Paylocity to review and acknowledge the handbook.

Accessing it is simple.

You’ll log into Paylocity, navigate to your tasks, and follow the prompts to review the document and complete your acknowledgment.

Going forward, any updates to policies will also be communicated through Paylocity, with acknowledgment required to ensure everyone stays informed.

This is an important step forward in keeping our teams aligned and supported. The handbook is intended to be a practical tool. Something you can easily reference, trust, and use to guide your work every day.


As May 1 approaches, keep an eye out for the handbook in Paylocity and plan to spend some time with it. We want everyone to have the opportunity to read through it carefully, ask questions, and feel confident in what’s expected before completing acknowledgment ahead of the June 1 effective date.
