What is the difference between HOT-DIP and zinc-plated products?
The difference between hot-dip and zinc-plated products is the process by which the zinc coating is applied.
Zinc plating is a process where zinc is deposited by using an electric current. This process leaves a thin layer of zinc offering limited corrosion resistance. A zinc-plated product will be smooth and shiny.
Hot-dip galvanization results in a much thicker zinc protective layer and is distinguished by its dull appearance. The thicker layer offers better corrosion resistance.
